The Mawddach estuary, which Dolgellau is at the head of, is one of the most beautiful places in the UK. The market town of Dolgellau, formerly the county town of Merionethshire, or Sir Feirionnydd, is now in Gwynedd. Its buildings are made of warm stone. You will hear a lot of Welsh spoken around Dolgellau, but don't worry - everybody speaks English as well. |
